The Charlottesville rallies that took place and led to the death of one woman and injuries of numerous others has created a ripple effect in the media, with people taking sides on the issue of racism and demonstrations. One CNN host Kate Bolduan decided to confront a Republican Senate candidate name Corey Stewart who was a guest on her show. Stewart tried to stand up for the preservation of Confederate statues, which did not go over well with Bolduan. Stewart went on to say “Weak, lily-livered Republicans” are not standing up for “conservative values” along with the trying to preserve Confederate statues, which many view as an emboldened sign of hatred.

Bolduan asked Stewart “There has long been a debate, and a nonviolent debate, about the appropriate place for Confederate statues. That’s not where this is anymore. There were people there shouting ‘Jews will not replace us.’ You condemn that, right?” Stewart responded and made sure to shift the blame to the “left,” saying, “Absolutely. Everybody condemns that. But that’s not the issue here,” Stewart replied. “The issue is you’ve got the violent left. Not even establishment Republicans have come out and condemned the far left group, Antifa, which has been espousing violence and attacking people.”

The conversation escalated from there once Bolduan questioned Stewart’s intellectual honesty, to which Stewart responded by saying “Intellectually honest? Coming from CNN, I just don’t— I don’t see that at all.” From there, they went back and forth interrupting each other until Bolduan shut Stewart down and told him to stop talking. Watch above.
