Michael Vick kept his words to a minimum when approached by TMZ for his reaction to the tragedies that took place in his native Virginia last weekend.

"Ah man, I hope they get it all cleaned up, man," Vick told the reporter as he was leaving Mastro's in L.A. The retired quarterback was then asked whether he himself could recall experiencing racism throughout his upbringing in Newport News. "Virginia's home. I love Virginia. We'll get it right, trust me," he'd only respond.

Vick might have realized that it is to his benefit to make it short and to the point, especially as his responses may pertain to politically charged matters. Fans will recall Vick receiving the brunt of a social media backlash from him suggesting last month that Colin Kaepernick start by cutting his hair if he wants owners to consider him for a job. It was later learned that even Vick's wife Kijafa put him on "sex time out" for his comments.

Regardless of the past, however, Vick's comments were positive on Thursday, August 17, and they come at a time when the Charlottesville community can use all of the thoughts, prayers, and good vibes it receives.
