America is not the only place in the world where people are facing human rights issues, as 37 inmates in a Venezuelan prison were killed during a raid by the government that took place overnight. The prison is located in the jungle state of Amazonas.

The Amazonas governor, Liborio Guaralla tweeted, “There was a massacre” in reference to the 37 prisoners killed in the raid. The purpose of the raid was for the government to regain control of the prisoner, which they attempted to do by sending in special forces. When interviewed later on in the night, Guarulla said: “The morgue is totally overwhelmed.” Along with 37 deaths, 14 people suffered injuries according to the Venezuela’s state prosecutor.
