This past Saturday, a woman was run down a by a car that plowed through a group of protesters who were rallying against hate group members. As a result, the woman died.

During a press conference days later, Trump said that “both sides” were responsible for what happened in Charlottesville, Virginia. Essentially, many believe that to be Trump equating neo-nazis to counter protesters. Since then, South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham accused Trump of taking “a step backward by again suggesting there is moral equivalency between the white supremacists neo-Nazis and KK members who attended the Charlottesville rally and people like Ms. [Heather] Heyer.”

Trump delivered a response to Graham via his favorite platform—Twitter. The POTUS said “Publicity seeking Lindsey Graham falsely stated that I said there is moral equivalency between the KKK, neo-Nazis & white supremacists.. and people like Ms. Heyer. Such a disgusting lie. He just can’t forget his election trouncing. The people of South Carolina will remember!” Graham is one of the many members of the Republican party who has come out to make it clear they do not stand with Trump’s statements on the Charlottesville incident.
