The Chronicle of Higher Education reported on Wednesday that Tyler Magill, a University of Virginia employee, suffered a stroke while participating in the counter-protest this past weekend in Charlottesville. Magill (pictured above with his hands up as he followed "Unite the Right" organizer Jason Kessler) reported that he was struck by one of the Tiki torches and this blunt force trauma led to clotting of the carotid artery which caused the stroke. Although there is no definitive proof that the Tiki torches led to Magill's stroke, those close to the situation claim that it is the most likely scenario. There is a GoFundMe account set up to help with Magill's medical costs.
