According to NY Daily News, an Arizona man was given 16 years in prison for scamming women on various BBW dating sites. The man, whose name is Daylon Pierce, set up profiles on websites like Tinder, BBPeopleMeet.com, PlentyOfFish, and Match.com to get off his schemes. Court documents noted that Pierce was able to get different women to “invest” in schemes he presented to them. From 2013 to 2016, Pierce hit up women on various websites, built romantic relationships with them, and told them that he was a licensed stockbroker. He would finesse the women into giving cash for “investments,” but would hit the strip club and casinos with their money instead.
The amount of money Pierce was able to pull out of the victims was large. One victim gave the man $100,000 as a loan for an investment, while another victim shelled out $240,000. Part of the money she gave came out of her 401K. Pierce’s scheme was elaborate according to one victim named Rose Reddy. She said that he only drove luxury vehicles and that he had a few different homes.
Pierce pleaded guilty to two counts of fraudulent schemes. Previously, the man was released in 2013 after serving 13 years in prison. He was serving time for gang activity and trafficking theft.
