Rapper Cardi B, born Belcalis Almanzar, is under fire and being labeled a racist after a series of old tweets have surfaced of her calling black women “cockroaches.”
Cardi isn't one to ever let people bad mouth her without her defending herself. She stated that the word “cockroach” is just a word she says, along with most NYC residents. Not to mention, she also posted a video of her calling herself a roach.
"I called MY OWN self a reach before so stop it !its a word I use ALOt Bronx bitches use a lot stop trying to make it into some racist shit,” Cardi says in the tweet attached to the video. She also claims people are simply out to ruin her moment after her single "Bodak Yellow" is getting more popular.
Cardi was also recently called out for an old tweet where she called someone a “tranny.” She previously apologized for using the transphobic term. She believes since she apologized, people shouldn't address it now. “I did along ass time ago, I’m not going to be getting crucified every time nikkas want to defame me fuck outta here,” Cardi wrote in a now-deleted tweet.
