Jon Jones doesn't see a third fight with Cormier in the cards, but he doesn't rule it out, seeing how he imagines it possible that the former light-heavyweight champ could very well clean the rest of the division out and find himself facing off with Jones once again in the future. But as it stands Jones has begun hinting that he'd like to meet up with Brock Lesner, and while fighting through tears in his post-UFC 214 interview, Cormier himself said there is no rivalry if he's been beaten both times they've met. At the end of the day, Jones appears to be moving on, but he doesn't seem to agree with the assertion that there is no rivalry. In fact, he may no longer hold any ill will or animosity over Cormier, but he'd like to someday get together before a camera and recollect on what he definitely believes was a rivalry. He'd also like to build with his storied counterpart.

"I would definitely like to have a respectful relationship with Cormier," Jones told a TMZ reporter who caught up with him on Monday, August 7. "It'd be great to eventually be able to support each other's causes and you know, charity events and you know, maybe even do an interview together talking about one of the biggest rivalries in combat sports history. That's my plan. I don't think he feels the same way though."

Whatever the remainder of Jones and Cormier's careers hold remains to be seen. As for Jones, he'll be relaxing and enjoying life as the champ again. He confirmed with TMZ that he intends to watch fellow UFC titlist Conor McGregor take on Floyd Mayweather Jr. from the comfort of his home. Fans won't likely hear from Cormier for a little while, on the other hand, as it may take some time for him to regather his pride and third wind in the sport.
