According to a report published by Golf Magazine, President Trump told his New Jersey club friends that he spends weekends away from the White House because it is a "real dump." The report also states the Trump feels "unguarded among the people who pay for their proximity to him," which may be why he felt comfortable enough to make the statement.
Out of 193 days since he began his presidency, Trump has spent 58 of them away from the White House. Nearly every weekend has been spent visiting one of the various properties he leases or owns, including Mar-a-Lago and Bedminster.
