Donald Trump recently gave a speech at the Boy Scout Jamboree in Glen Jean, West Virginia that was met with controversy. Instead of offering a relevant message appropriate for the Boy Scout event, Trump took his time on stage to talk about himself and to continue going at Hilary Clinton and Barack Obama.

After Trump's speech, Michael Surbaugh, Chief Executive of Boy Scouts of America, stated it was "never our intent" to use the Jamboree as a platform for partisan attacks. He continued, “I want to extend my sincere apologies to those in our Scouting family who were offended by the political rhetoric that was inserted into the Jamboree... We sincerely regret that politics were inserted into the Scouting program.”

The Boy Scouts of America found themselves receivers of backlash following Trump's speech requiring a swift response in order to manage the critics. This was just another public controversy the organization had to deal with since reversing its policy on transgender members back in January.
