Donald Trump's Chief of Staff Reince Priebus announced that he had resigned from his position on Friday, July 28, citing that the President wanted to go in a different direction. He explained, "Look, the President wanted to go a different direction. I support him in that," adding that he wasn't going to get into the reasons why he resigned.

Taking Priebus' place is Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly, whom Priebus said is "a brilliant pick" for the job.
