Donald Trump’s time in Long Island was spent addressing the police while speaking the issues that the city faces with the MS-13 gang. During his speech, the POTUS took the time to endorse police brutality while apprehending suspects. Trump said, “When you see these towns and when you see these thugs being thrown into the back of a paddy wagon, you just see them thrown in, rough, and I said, ‘Please don’t be too nice.’

He went on to say, “Like when you guys put somebody in the car and you’re protecting their head, you know, the way you put their hand over, like, don’t hit their head and they’ve just killed somebody, don’t hit their head, I said, ‘You can take the hand away, OK?’”

After Trump delivered his remark, many of the police in the crowd began to applause. From there, Trump commented on the laws and how they were not in favor of the cops, calling them “horrendously stacked.” The POTUS said, “For years and years, [laws have] been made to protect the criminal. Totally protect the criminal, not the officers. You do something wrong, you’re in more jeopardy than they are. These laws are stacked against you. We’re changing those laws.” Trump also managed to take a shot Mayor Bill de Blasio, calling him a “pathetic mayor.”
