North Korea Appeared to Fire a Ballistic Missile Towards Japan

North Korea on Friday launched a ballistic missile that may have landed in a Japanese economic zone. Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe called a National Security Council meeting as a result, the Associated Press reported.

The missile is reported to have landed in a Japanese exclusive economic zone, which extends 230 miles off the country's coast.

A Pentagon spokesperson confirmed that the US detected a North Korean ballistic missile launch.
