Chauncey Billups revealed that he turned down the Cleveland Cavaliers' offer to be president of player operations due in part to Kyrie Irving's unhappiness. Billups said he learned how disgruntled Irving was from Cavs owner Dan Gilbert during his interview. As he spoke on the Vic Lombardi Show in Denver Billups stated, "I knew so much about the situation that the rest of the world doesn't know."

Despite what Billups knows of the Lebron-Kyrie rift, it wasn't compelling enough for Billups to rationalize Irving actually leaving the Cavs. "You're getting everything you want. You're getting all the shots you want; you're playing for a great coach; when the game is on the line, they're coming to you; you're playing on national TV every week. To me, I don't get it."

Billups went on to further explain his decision to turn down the job was due in large part to the Cavs lack of assets. If we believe Billups, it may be safe to say the Cavs aren't equipped to rebuild if they are straddled with another potential LeBron exit.
