When Adrien Broner enters the ring to take on Mikey Garcia at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn this coming Saturday, July 29, he will be coming in as a one time 5-1 underdog in the fight. Seeing how focused the troubled boxer has proven to be over the past few months, however, some of the oddsmakers who initially thought to put their money on a resurging Garcia, may be itching to change their bets.

In a Showtime teaser that has just been released to build anticipation for the event, it is evident that Broner wasn't blowing hot air when he told Brian Custer last month that he is returning to form. The former four division world champ has escaped his familiar surroundings and has been training intensely in the mountainous terrain of Colorado Springs. He is motivated more than he ever has been, he says, to prove the doubters wrong.

"It feel like my back against the wall. Everybody's counting me out once again. And then, when I win, they'll only make up a excuse of, 'Oh he should have did that. He was the bigger guy.'," Broner said at the tail end of the two-minute snippet. In spite of his yearning to make a statement, his motivation to return to the sport's pound-for-pound rankings has nothing to do with securing anyone's validation. "I really don't give a s**t about critics, or what they say about me, or how they bash me on the internet. All I'm worrying about is coming inside that ring and putting on a hell of a show," says Broner.
