Coco Austin is currently facing a backlash from critics who've taken issue with a series of social media posts she recently shared to show off a new hairstyle that she's coined "Da Coco side swoop," and her husband Ice-T has got her back.
Followers of Coco on Instagram can track back to the date she put up a video of her flexing the blond box-braid look last week. In the caption of the video, the reality television vixen adds that it wouldn't be the first hairstyle she's named, writing, "Oh and by the way.. I name all the braid styles I do even hair styles with no braids .. Its a cute thing I do.. I have many weird Coco-isms do." Still, the disclaimer failed to buck those coming at her with accusations of having exercised "cultural appropriation," with some blasting her use of ebonics in her spelling of the name she's given the style, and others knocking her for giving it a new name in the first place.
One particular user directed her dismay at Ice-T and Black men in general "for allowing their white significant others to even remotely think this was ok." Ice actually took the time out to address the tweet, responding, "Wrong for what? Braiding her hair?? You sound dumb."
