News recently broke of actor John Heard passing away at the age of 72. For those who don’t know, one of Heard’s more memorable roles was Peter McCallister, the father in the first two Home Alone movies. According to TMZ, Heard pronounced dead after being found by a maid in his hotel room. The coroner pronounced Heard dead on the scene not too long after police were called to the hotel. The coroner is currently still investigating, and no set cause of death has been set.
Heard’s representative told the press that he had a “minor back surgery” this past Wednesday at the Stanford Medical Center in Stanford, California. From there, Heard began his recovery at the hotel he passed away in.
