A man drove his missing wife's car 17 hours from Texas to Ohio so that he could meet up with a woman he met over the internet, was arrested last week, and charged in connection with the wife's death, when authorities located the vehicle only to find her lifeless body in the trunk.

Tamara R. Harris' 2015 Chevy Traverse was tracked down thanks to the vehicles OnStar feature. Officers from Mansfield, OH were dispatched to the 400 block of Woodridge Drive, after the city's police department was contacted by an official from Cedar Hill, TX, and informed of the address to which they tracked the location of Harris' car. Having found the vehicle unoccupied, a tow truck was called over, but before impounding it authorities on the scene figured to pop the trunk, at which time they made the gross discovery.

Shortly thereafter the officers found Dequalan Dejuan Harris, 35, at the address of 424 Woodridge Drive, where he had met up with his online love interest. According to the police report, the apartment's resident, Demika Rucker confirmed that Harris had arrived the day before (Friday, July 14). Harris reportedly had the couple's child with him and attempted to give the alibi that he had last seen his wife when picking the child up from her before heading out across states.

The Harris' reportedly had a history of documented 911 calls to their home and were on the brink of divorce. Dequalan Harris has been charged with abuse of a corpse and awaits charges pending for his suspected involvement in Tameka's murder. The child was taken into the care of the state.
