Former football star Michael Vick caused a stir on Monday [July 17], when during an episode of "Speak for Yourself" on FS1, he advised that if Colin Kaepernick wants to be signed by an NFL team what he ought to do is "just try to be presentable,” and cut his hair.

Vick was invited to speak on Kaepernick's predicament after host Jason Whitlock compared the suspected blackballing of the former 49ers quarterback to Vick's banishment from the league for running an illegal dog fighting operation. Whitlock suggested that Vick might be able to counsel Kaepernick on how to get back into the good graces of league owners. “I’m not up here to try to be politically correct but -- even if he puts cornrows on it -- I don’t think he should represent himself, in that way, in terms of hair style. Just go clean-cut," Vick responded.

The retired QB was roasted over social media for his advice and immediately shot into sports news headlines for what is sure to make for a public relations hangover by Tuesday.
