Donald Trump registered the lowest approval ratings of any U.S. President ever polled by ABC News/ the Washington Post this past week. According to results released on Sunday, July 16, of the 1,001 citizens surveyed from July 10-13 only 36% weighed in Trump's favor, which sinks below the former low obtained by Gerald Ford (39%) in 1975. Never has a President polled as low as 36% in the ABC News/Washington Post poll's existence. Trump's disapproval rating topped out at nearly 60%.

While the President maintains an edge in regards to his on the economy (43%-41%), in nearly every other department his performance is ranked below 50%. Only 27% of respondents believe U.S. leadership has gotten stronger, and nearly half (48%) are sure that it has in fact gotten weaker. 66% of Americans have lost trust in his handling of affairs with other world leaders.

Trump scuffed at the latest report hours after it was published, tweeting, "The ABC/Washington Post Poll, even though almost 40% is not bad at this time, was just about the most inaccurate poll around election time!"
