A Texas judge was suspended without pay over a scandal that broke out after her ex-boyfriend went public with claims that she was dealing in drug exchanges with a member of the court, and has on several occasions joined him in exploiting prostitutes.

The ruling was handed down to Peace for Precinct 7 Judge Hilary H. Green, in Harris County last week. While Green would still need to come before a three-judge panel before any basis is found to revoke her license, the Texas Supreme Court determined there to be enough misconduct to take her off of the bench for the immediate future.

According to the charges made by Green's ex-boyfriend, she has in the past obtained cocaine, Ecstasy, and Tussionex from a courtroom bailiff. Green is said to have taken precaution with the wording of text messages she traded with the bailiff, going so far as to assign each respective drug a code name. Cocaine was "cookie dough," "Ecstasy was "Skittles," and Tussionex was "nuts and bolts" according to Green's ex. He says that in addition to drug purchases, he and Green would find sex on Backpage.com. They once paid a prostitute in Houston $150 for her services and on another occasion paid a prostitute in Austin $200, he says.

Green's lawyer has denied the charges and defends that they come from an attempt by a bitter former lover to ruin her life. He is currently fighting to get her back to work, arguing that she cannot lawfully be removed because the incidents are alleged to have happened prior to her re-election to the bench in November of 2016.
