J. Cole kicked off the second leg of his 4 Your Eyez Only tour in Phoenix on Thursday night, July 6, and he did so in dramatic fashion.
Less than a week shy of Kendrick Lamar's DAMN. tour opening over in Glendale, AZ, the Dreamville rapper took a page out of his friendly rival's book, making an entrance reminiscent of that which K. Dot made for his 2016 Grammy Awards performance. The Talking Stick Resort Arena crowd got fired up as soon as a pair of men dressed up as police officers appeared from the venue's tunnel. They were followed by Cole, who came out in an orange prison jumpsuit.
Cole hits up the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday before swinging to the West Coast, and then taking his act to the Midwest and then East. He will complete his 2017 touring schedule alongside Jay-Z at the Budweiser Made In America Festival in September.
