2Pac once dated Madonna, and now according to a letter that the rapper wrote to the singer while he was in jail, he stopped dating her because she was white. The letter is up for auction from July 19-28 with a starting bid of $100,000 and consists of three pages, with one of them being a poem. In the letter, 2Pac speaks on the perception of their relationship, saying, “For you to be seen with a black man wouldn’t in any way jeopardize your career, if anything it would make you seem that much more open & exciting. But for me at least in my previous perception, I felt due to my ‘image’ I would be letting down half of the people who made me what I thought I was. I never meant to hurt you.”
2Pac also spoke on Madonna’s comments she made about going, “off to rehabilitate all the rappers and basketball players,” saying that those words “cut him” deep. Read the full letter above.
