A case against comedian and actor Bill Cosby for an alleged sexual assault was recently declared a mistrial as the jury deadlocked. Since then, his team announced a “town hall” tour where Cosby would address how young people can avoid getting sexual assault charges. Cosby’s attorney issued a statement that quickly shot down that idea, saying, “He doesn’t take lightly these criminal charges. He would never do anything that undermined the importance of this issue. I don’t see him speaking publicly like that.”

Cosby ended up issuing his own statement, saying, “The current propaganda that I am going to conduct a sexual assault tour is false. Any further information about public plans will be given at the appropriate time.” Previously, Cosby’s rep told the press that upcoming town halls he was scheduled to attend and speak at would be focused on sexual assault. Cosby is scheduled to go to trial on July 30, 2018 for a civil suit filed against him that accused him of assaulting a young teenage girl at the Playboy Mansion in 1974.
