Recently, six Fort Lauderdale teenagers were arrested after stealing a Porshe, $200,000 and two handguns during a Florida home burglary; burning through the cash on jewelry, gold teeth, and vehicles for themselves and their mothers.

According to St. Lucie County police, Rural Scott, 15, Jeremiah Laplace, 15, Michael Bush, 14, Joshua Sargeant, 14, Shomari Smith, 14, and Walter Walker, 16, were arrested Monday (June 27) after a two-month investigation.

Police say the teens confessed to driving in a stolen car to “hit up a house north near Orlando,” breaking into the North Hutchinson Island home of Brett Browning on April 27, taking his 2014 Porsche Cayman and a safe containing his life savings of $200,000.

The teens split the money after meeting at a gas station where they popped open the safe with crowbars. Some of the lavish expenditures made by the teenagers were a Dodge Challenger Hellcat, gold teeth for $11,000; a gold chain for $10,000 and a gold bracelet for $3,500. One of the teen's mothers received a new Audi A4, while another received $40,000 in cash.

The teens who all have lengthy rap sheets were not hard to find as they were all in jail for separate crimes. One of the teens told police he chose not to enter the house because he’d "already been through this,” citing he had an ankle bracelet on the day of the burglary. Of the six teens, two are being held without bond, and the rest have bonds ranging from $210,000 to $250,000.
