Eminem paid homage to Prodigy this week, with a recital of his memorable verse from "Survival of the Fittest," off of Mobb Deep's 1995 classic album The Infamous. Em recorded the rhyme for a tribute Hot 97's Peter Rosenberg put together and aired on Monday night, June 26.

Rosenberg's Real Late show tribute to the late rap legend included clips from past appearances on the New York radio station and an a capella of Kendrick Lamar reciting his verse from "Genesis," off of H.N.I.C., to boot. “I just want to say rest in peace to Prodigy. We love you, homie. Hip-hop loves you. You will forever be missed,” Em capped off his tribute by saying.

Eminem has always given the Queens rap staple their due props. Fans of the Detroit great will recall Mobb Deep anchoring the soundtrack to his 2002 major motion picture 8 Mile, which included both "Survival of the Fittest" and "Shook Ones (Part II)".
