MC Lyte just got through having one of the busiest weekends in the business, throwing her 5th annual Hip Hop Sisters Foundation fundraiser on Friday, and then closing out Sunday, June 25, in her role as the BET Awards' resident DJ. But having all of that work on her mind couldn't keep the hip-hop pioneer from reflecting on what it's all been like and how that extra something just seems to be missing without Kanye West.

Lyte took to social media only hours prior to heading out for the big show to impart some words towards Ye, that she could only hope gets to him, considering he's seemed to cut the world off and dropped his Twitter and Instagram pages. She simply wanted to know how he's been doing, and to ask when we'll get to see him again.

"My dear brother you are on my mind. Where are you? How are you? Will we hear you again? How you feel...will we ever hear how you feel? We miss you. Can't wait to hear that next thing. Those words. That slay. So slick. Sing your song my brother, Jesus Walks...He does, you are, because he was. He is, he lives, ask & believe, he'll manifest the gift----NEW LIFE ---We miss you Kanye," wrote Lyte.

Depending on the pace of his work, the world may not have to wait much longer for a Yeezy comeback. He has reportedly been camped out in the mountains of Wyoming over the past couple of months, where he is working on his next album. But even prior to becoming reclusive in the aftermath of his TLOP tour meltdown, some of Ye's closest friends attest to him becoming distant from old acquaintances. While the quality of his work goes unquestioned, most argue that it just lacks the inspiration it once had. Thus, it is anybody's guess whether him returning will translate to MC Lyte's prayers for a resurgence of the old Kanye.
