Dating back to the brutal 2016 race for the White House Donald Trump has consistently used accusations originally raised by Bernie Sanders' base, of Hillary Clinton having been in cahoots with the DNC to bury Sanders' campaign, against her. On Sunday, June 25, he did so once more, in a tweet that both lampooned Bernie, and deflected from his scandal involving collusion with the Russian government - by insinuating that the First Lady-turned-Secretary of State has done the very same thing.

“Hillary Clinton colluded with the Democratic Party in order to beat Crazy Bernie Sanders. Is she allowed to so collude? Unfair to Bernie!” Trump wrote. The President had earlier aired out allegations that the Obama administration was aware of Russian meddling prior to the Presidential election. In that particular tweet he implied that there might have been a twist in the story involving Clinton, writing, "Obama Administration official said they 'choked' when it came to acting on Russian meddling of the election. They didn't want to hurt Hillary?"

Trump has trained the focus of his fervent base back on Obama over the past couple of days, claiming that he has come into some information that would indicate the former Commander In Chief sat on his hands despite having received intel about Moscow's plans. “Well I just heard today for the first time that Obama knew about Russia a long time before the election, and he did nothing about it. But nobody wants to talk about that,” he said while appearing on Fox and Friends Weekend. But while the statement threw Obama under the bus, it was clearly a shot at the media's persistent coverage of his relationship with Vladimir Putin's regime. He inferred that much when he told the Fox audience that “The CIA gave [Obama] information on Russia a long time before they even — before the election. And I hardly see it."
