Noisey recently published an interview with Cam'ron that went along with the release of his new single, "DIA." It was a one-on-one during which the Dipset rapper laid out his plans to put his next album out in conjunction with a movie to match. Why make a video for each of an album's singles when you can cake off of an actual film that uses the music Cam basically said, confirming that from here on out fans can expect more cinema coming from the artist that wrote, directed and produced Killa Season in a similar fashion.

On Friday night, June 23, Cam revealed what makes him the force in hip-hop whose been responsible for carrying on such an innovative format, since Jay-Z did it with The Streets Is Watching. In a video posted to social media shortly thereafter, Cam records himself spitting a spoken word verse that gives his account of a woman who got in contact with him to state her interest in developing a Dipset documentary. As Cam explains, she'd offer him an advance and a percentage of the project's earnings, but as soon as he realized he wouldn't have ownership over the project he deaded the idea.

It is clear Cam'ron understands he's already got a foot in the film industry and realizes that if he's going to do a project that will basically promote itself, he mine as well keep it in-house and do it all.
