The crowd at the Barclays Center let out a roar when with the 2nd overall pick in Thursday night's [June 22] NBA Draft the Los Angeles Lakers selected Lonzo Ball out of UCLA. But while the noise level at the arena raised significantly, the nature of the reaction coming from most was generally indistinguishable. It wasn't until his dad Lavar was making his exit that how the majority of those in the audience felt about him became abundantly clear.

Boos and jeers followed the Balls out of the Brooklyn venue, prompting LaVar to respond in place of his son, as he has grown accustomed to doing. While no shouts were exchanged, it was a typical LaVar response, with the Big Baller Brand boss tossing his BBB hat at his critics.

LaVar and Lonzo were in their glory. For months they've shunned the opportunity to grab the top stop, instead hoping that he'd remain available for Magic Johnson to pick the Cali point guard up. L.A. fans now place their hopes in the 2017 draftee to bring a little 'Zotime out of the former Showtime dynasty.
