It looks like Chance the Rapper realizes he had a little bit too much fun satirizing major labels while performing on the Be Encouraged tour recently. The Grammy Award-winning rapper took to Twitter on Thursday, June 22, to apologize to Dr. Dre specifically, for leaning into artist-owned labels that he retracted to say have "worked to progress the culture."

"Dre is a premier example of creating space for wealth and ownership in an industry designed for creatives to be the foot soldiers," Chance wrote, before listing such rappers as Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, 50 Cent and NWA, along with his Beats venture and charity in the community among his contributions to music and society at large.

"I set out to empower and I completely missed the ball and I know that now," Chance wrote. "Once again Sorry to Dre, all the artists/producers at Aftermath and all the other folk trying to make a difference in music that I belittled."
