John Singleton made an appearance on Atlanta's 94.5 with Jazzy McBee this week, and of course, the topic of L.T. Hutton's All Eyez On Me came up for discussion.

The making of the Tupac biopic had gone through several transitions throughout its five years in the making, but thanks to Hutton, Benny Boom, the film's investors and all of the actors involved, it has finally arrived in theaters. Unfortunately, while the film has brought many to appreciate the project based primarily on the nostalgia it brings, it has received mixed reviews, not only from critics but from those closest to 2Pac during his 25-years of on earth. Some of the movie's heaviest criticism is coming from Singleton, who was initially tapped to be its director.

"They disrespected Pac's mom. He would not allow people who would disrespect his family to make a movie. They just made it Pac as a rap star, they didn't understand where he came from," Singleton says. "They were just making a movie about a rapper."
