The Congressional Black Caucus is not on the same page with Trump as they have turned down an invitation to meet with him. According to reports, the caucus feels that their concerns are falling on "deaf ears" at the White House. Along with that, they feel that Trump's policies are very detrimental and devastating to the millions of citizens living in black communities.

A Caucus Chairman named Cedric Richmond gave more insight into the Caucus' response, saying "The CBC, and the millions of people we represent, have a lot to lose under your administration. I fail to see how a social gathering would benefit the policies we advocate for." Previously, Trump met with select members of the Caucus, but no follow through for the promises Trump made has been executed. A Caucus rep named Gregory Meeks said: "Until we can deal with substance and issues what's the benefit of a meeting?"
