Fans of former Fox News pundit Bill O'Reilly were close to having their guy receive a deal that would have returned him to television, but he has reportedly booted the opportunity.

One America News Network announced that it was rescinding its offer to the conservative demagogue via Twitter on Tuesday, June 20. “We are pulling offer to @billoreilly, it could have paid him more than he made at Fox,” OANN CEO Robert Herring wrote, before wishing him well on future endeavors.

OANN had plans to add O'Reilly to its growing roster of right-wing favorites that has included Tomi Lahren and Corey Lewandowski, but the 67-year-old news veteran reportedly dragged on his decision, until Herring felt he had taken too long. Herring is also said to be interested in peeling Sean Hannity away from Fox, as the expanding network attempts to maneuver itself as a competitor of Rupert Murdoch's media empire.
