On Tuesday, the rap world was shocked after it was announced that hip-hop great Prodigy had passed away at the age of 42. While a cause of death has yet to be released, the Mobb Deep spitter had been hospitalized due to complications caused by sickle cell anemia prior to his death.

Rappers and fans alike flocked to social media to offer their thoughts and condolences, with fellow Queens spitter 50 Cent briefly sharing his own fond memory of Prodigy.

"The police tried to get P to set me up," wrote Fif on Instagram. "They asked him if I keep any gun or drugs around. Then wanted him to put a gun in my car. He didn't do it, instead he told me what they were trying to do. My man P."
