The NBA offseason has been full of surprises, and now the Lakers have traded D'Angelo Russell to the Brooklyn Nets for Brook Lopez and the 27th pick in the upcoming NBA Draft. Along with that, Timofey Mozgov is heading to the Nets as well. Because of this trade, that means the Lakers have a chance of picking up another promising player because they have the 2nd, 27th, and 28th picks in the first round of the draft. This trade heightens speculation that the Lakers are going after Lonzo Ball via the number two pick in the draft. Ball would fill the role of point guard that Russell once populated.

The flip side for the Nets finds the Brooklyn team getting rid of an injury-prone player to get a point guard that has much potential. There is no word on how D'Angelo Russell will mesh with his new teammates though, as he still has a past incident of outing his former teammate Nick Young's cheating incident looming over his head.
