Kevin Durant is headed for free agency. It has been reported by ESPN that he will forego the player option that would boost his salary in 2017-18. But the 2017 Finals MVP is expected to re-sign with the team in order to allow the Warriors salary space to bring Andre Iguodala back. Meaning, KD will be hitting the market to take less money for the upcoming season.

It is speculated that Durant is willing to take a $4 million cut if it means keeping the championship core that dominated the post season together. Word around the league is that Iguodala will be in high demand from the competition and can command up to $20 million per year. Golden State also faces the task of working their budget to pay out a Designated Player Veteran Contract for Steph Curry that should run them upwards of $200 million for five years.

Sources believe Durant will look to ink another one-plus-one year deal that attaches a player-option at the end of it.
