On Saturday (June 17), Bill Cosby's sexual assault trial ended with a jury deadlocked after 52 hours of deliberations. Although Montgomery County Judge Steven O'Neill declared a mistrial, prosecutors have made it clear they will retry the 79-year-old comedian.

"It's been a long process to get to this point. We had to overcome a number of obstacles that we're put in our way... by the defense to stop or delay this trial." Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele said in a press conference following the conclusion of the trial.

Bill Cosby stood accused of drugging and sexually assaulting former Temple University employee Andrea Constand at his Philadelphia home in 2004. While disappointed by the lack of a unanimous verdict, Prosecutor Kevin Steele was pleased that Andrea Constand was able to take the stand against her accuser. "We got to try our case. We got to be in a position where Andrea Constand and other prior bad acts witnesses could testify in a court of law."

"We will reevaluate and review our case. We will take a hard look at everything involved, and then we will retry it," District Attorney Steele said. "As I said in court, our plan is to move this case forward as soon as possible."
