Tupac Shakur's highly anticipated biopic All Eyez on Me released Friday to both praise and criticism. According to film review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, most viewers liked the film. However, it was widely panned by critics, with only 23% giving it a favorable review at the time of this writing.

Jada Pinkett Smith, who became friends with Shakur when they both were aspiring artists at the Baltimore School for the Arts, weighed in on the film via Twitter and didn't have a whole lot of good things to say.

Pointing out several scenes from the film that never actually happened in real life, Smith summed up her thoughts on the project with the tweet, "The reimagining of my relationship to Pac has been deeply hurtful."

L.T. Hutton, one of the film's primary producers, recently shared his thoughts with TMZ about Smith's comments.

"I'm kinda disappointed and just hurt by the accusations that it wasn't depicted [accurately]," said Hutton. "It all came from the truth, you know, and places and moments of her actual dialogue and ideas that 'Pac actually had..."

Hutton went on to reveal that he got material for the film from a video he found in which Smith spoke candidly about her relationship with Pac. "It was like, hmm, I have to use it..."
