Philando Castile's mother Valerie spoke out on Friday (June 16) after Minnesota police officer Jeronimo Yanez was acquitted of killing Castile nearly a year ago. Castile's girlfriend recorded the aftermath of his death on Facebook Live, causing outrage around the globe.

Valerie Castile addressed a crowd outside of the courthouse on Friday, telling them, "I'm so disappointed in the state of Minnesota. My son loved this city and this city killed my son, and the murderer gets away - are you kidding me right now?" She added that "we are not evolving as a civilization, we are de-evolving. We are going back down to 1969. What is it going to take? I'm mad as hell."
