There was a time when Darius Miles was looked at as the most promising NBA prospect to come along in a long time. Miles was drafted straight out of high school with the 3rd overall pick in the 2000 NBA draft. But after playing seven full seasons it was apparent that he would never materialize into the star it was once imagined that he would, and his life began to spiral down in a tailspin. Last September the world learned that the 35-year-old St. Louis native had blown the $66 million he made over the course of his career, and had filed for bankruptcy.

This week, it was reported that Miles began to sell some of his more menial personal belongings as a means of paying back creditors. A LeBron James jersey bearing the King's signature, an AR15 assault rifle, and a toaster sold for $1,500/ $500/ and $2 respectively. They were just some of the items that accounted for the $12,780 he'd make in the sale. The sum won't make much of a dent in the $282,041 debt he reported to the IRS, but there was no getting around the decision to part ways with his things after listing $460,385 in assets and $1.57-million in liabilities before the judge last year.

Other items listed in the Illinois sale reportedly included:

– A Larry Bird signed jersey ($100)

– A Beretta Cx4 Storm gun ($400)

– A Self-contained karaoke machine ($75)

– A Dirk Nowitzki signed shoe ($375)

– A Lamar Odom signed shoe ($225)

– And 5 VHS players (total of $21.50)
