He has raised $2 million for Chicago's public schools. He's held coat drives for the homeless. He even used his 24th birthday party to raise $100,000 for charity. But if you were hoping Chance the Rapper would run for office, don't hold your breath. Chance covers Ebony Magazine's June music issue and told the publication he isn't interested in politics.

"I would never run for any office or government position. I'm not into it. I think politics is a reason why a lot of stuff doesn't get done. There's a lot of favors, and a lot of people are held back by their intentions of being re-elected or the things that they owe their party or constituents. I think when you're in my position as an artist, I can say what I want and talk about the issues that matter."

This would be especially disappointing to the Chicago residents who are actually calling on Chance to run. According to XXL, the website, chano4mayor.com wants Lil' Chano from 79th to go up against Rahm Emanuel in the February 2019 election. They say in part,

"We want a mayor who will fight for public education. We want a mayor who will reinvest in black and brown communities on the South and West Sides. We want a mayor who will address our epidemic of gun violence without the brutality of police or prisons. We want a mayor who will let they young people of Chicago lead."

Do you think Chance will change his mind? What other rappers would you like to see run for office?
