1980s one-hit wonder Rockwell was taken into police custody and booked for an assault in his Venice, CA home on Thursday, May 25.

The R&B singer, who came into the music industry under his legendary Motown label head father Berry Gordy, and scored a chart topper with the Michael Jackson assisted "Somebody's Watching Me," was placed under citizen's arrest at the request of his housekeeper.

According to reports, Rockwell [born Kennedy William Gordy] had gotten into it with the woman over his lunch. He is accused of striking her after insisting that she was taking too long to make him a sandwich. He remains in custody on a misdemeanor battery charge, TMZ reports.
