Over the past few weeks, talk has been growing around the possibility of Colin Kaepernick heading to Seattle in 2017, and as it turns out the Seahawks are looking to hold a workout and give the former 49ers quarterback a look, according to NFL Network.

Kaepernick and fellow free agent Austin Davis met with team officials on Wednesday, May 24. He is reported to have flown out to the West Coast from New York City, where the activist/athlete has been taking on his social justice work. It will be the first time Kaepernick has convened with an NFL team since becoming a free-agent back in February.

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll has admitted to seeking out an ideal prototype to back up passing/running threat Russell Wilson. Kaepernick and Robert Griffin III are two of the names the team is said to favor most from the market. While there would be plenty of irony to go around from a Kaepernick signing, considering San Francisco is an NFC West rival and Kaepernick and Wilson have a history as rivals dating back to their 2013 match-up in the Super Bowl, their playing style is somewhat similar, leading Carroll to imagine he'd fit right into the offense.
