A shocking video recently surfaced that appears to show a San Antonio police officer punch a 14-year old girl while breaking up fights outside of a birthday party. The officer can be seen hitting the girl before other officers helped arrest the girl.

According to reports, the video recorded Saturday (May 21) show police officers answering a call of men fighting during a quinceanera, the celebration of a girl's 15th birthday. During the commotion, we see a police officer strike the girl twice before she fell back into a group of onlookers. After the initial hits, the officer strikes the teen again before other officers swarm in for the arrest.

"No! No! No! No! Let her go!" shouted the girl's mother as officers arrested her daughter. The 14-year-old honor roll student was charged with assaulting a public servant. Artessia House, the lawyer representing the teen, told the San Antonio Express-News that it is "clear as day" the officers used excessive force arresting her client.

Ivy Taylor, Mayor of San Antonio, said the disturbing video was "hard to watch and listen to" and explained the police department would be reviewing police body camera footage to understand the incident. The teen was released Monday (May 22) from a juvenile detention center.
