During a town hall held to further inform the public about his efforts to push for the impeachment of President Donald Trump, Congressman Al Green of Texas took a moment to share audio he has saved, that exposes some of his constituents presenting him with death threats over his commitment to oust the Commander-In-Chief.
"You ain't going to impeach nobody, you f**king n***er. Try it and we'll lynch all you f**ing n***ers. You'll be hanging from a tree," one caller is heard telling Green. In another recording, a different voice says, We got an impeachment for you. It's going to be yours. Actually going to give you a short trial before we hang your n***er a**."
It was an intense couple of minutes for those on hand at South Houston's Fountain Life Center, some of whom rebuked Green and the Democratic Party establishment for focusing so much energy a probe into ties between Trump's campaign and Russian operatives. But no significant disturbances or apparent dangers reared up at the meeting, and that may have had something to do with the escalated level of security Green had on hand in light of the threats he's received.
"I thought it appropriate to let you hear these recordings so that you can understand why we have the security," he told the audience, before vowing before them that he fully intends on moving full steam ahead with his call for the President to be taken out of office. "No amount of threats and intimidation will stop what I have started," said Green.
