The Trump administration is continuing along with trying to "make America great again," this time in the form of a proposed 4.1 billion dollar budget for 2018 that would drastically cut programs for poor folks in the nation, including food stamps, disability payments, health care, student loans, and more. The administration is calling the document "A New Foundation for American Greatness." The budget is also looking to create an increase in military spending amounting to 10 percent. Along with that, they are looking to spend over 2.6 billion dollars on for Mexican border security. Of that $2.6 billion, $1.6 billion would be used to start work on the Mexican border wall that Trump proposed Mexico would pay for.

The budget proposal really hits folks who are considered "poor" in America, with the program looking to remove $192 billion from nutritional assistance and over $800 billion from Medicaid, which is a health program created by the government for the poor. Along with that, people on welfare should be worried, as the program will take a $272 billion hit. Social Security and Medicare were not affected by the proposal presented by the administration. According to Trump's advisers, the reductions listed are considered necessary in order to spare taxpayers from footing the bill for programs that have not worked well, while also trying to balance out the national budget.
