On Monday night, the Golden State Warriors completed their sweep of the San Antonio Spurs in Game 4 of the Western Conference finals and are heading to their 3rd NBA Finals in 3 years. The Spurs were simply no match, losing the game 129-115.

The Warriors finished the series with a perfect playoff record of 12-0, becoming the first team to accomplish this feat. According to ESPN.com, they are also the first team to “sweep three best-of-seven series in the same postseason.”

Curry led the way with 36 points, five rebounds, and six assists. Fifteen of those points came beyond the 3-point line, moving him past Kobe Bryant (292) on the NBA’s all-time playoff 3-pointers list. Curry now sits in 5th place with 295.

Kevin Durant managed to notch a double-double for his efforts. He scored an efficient 29 points on 10-of-13 shooting and grabbed 12 rebounds. Draymond Green also contributed with eight rebounds, eight assists, and 16 points, while Klay Thompson added 10 points.

Despite the accomplishment and impressive unbeaten streak, Curry maintained his focus after the game. He said, “12-0 is great, but it doesn’t mean anything going into the next series.”

There was one bright note for the Spurs as Manu Ginobili received a standing ovation when he checked out with 2:25 left. The crowd chanted “Manu, Manu,” and will wait to see if their star returns next year. Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich said, “He’ll figure out what’s best for him and his family. We started him tonight out of respect.”

Golden State now awaits the winner of the Cleveland Cavaliers and Boston Celtics series. The NBA Finals begin June 1 at Oracle Arena.
