NFL cornerback Antonio Cromartie just can't stop having children. The 33-year-old free agent was confirmed to soon to be a father for the 14th time, after his wife Terricka took to social media to announce the news on Sunday, May 14.

"In the up an coming CROMARTIE DRAFT of 2017, with the 6th OverAll Pick. Will the Cromartie's Draft a Boy or a Girl," Terricka wrote in the caption of a photo of her her belly that she put up on Instagram. According to the post, Terricka is six months pregnant. The news comes as a bit of a shocker for the Cromartie clan, considering he had a vasectomy done in 2013. It will be the 3rd child he has fathered since the procedure was done, with Terricka having given birth to a set of twins last year. The newborn Cromartie will be Terricka and Antonio's sixth together.

While it may be uncommon, there are a set of circumstances that does make it possible for a man who has undergone a vasectomy to continue having children. After the operation, patients are required to take birth control for three additional months, before returning to be screened for their sperm count. The doctor must confirm that he is down to a zero count for the procedure to have been successful. Should a patient fail to complete the check-up process, he may continue walking around without knowing that he is still fertile. And even if he sees to taking all of the steps, there would remain a 1 in 2,000 chance that he can impregnate a woman. Also, vasectomies have been known on rare occasion, to unravel in a process called "recanalization," during which tiny holes begin to tear open in the scar tissue blocking the flow of sperm.
