Michelle Obama is voicing her discontent over the Trump administration's decision to repeal her Let's Move! public health initiative last month, tweeting, "No one should play politics with our kids’ health," after dissenting against the move during the annual Partnership for a Healthier America summit, on Friday, May 12.
Americans will recall one of the former First Lady's primary focuses being obesity, and how to combat the condition while continuing to raise awareness about its impact on the nation's youth in particular. Under her leadership, public schools around the country adhered to stricter nutritional standards. Back in April, however, Trump's appointed Agriculture Secretary signed a proclamation that eases requirements so that schools no longer have to favor 100% whole grain rich bread, nor would they need to monitor the use of salt or restrict all milk served, to be fat-free.
"You have to stop and think, 'Why don't you want our kids to have good food at school? What is wrong with you, and why is that a partisan issue? Why would that be political?" Michelle said at the summit. "Moms, think about this ... I don't care what state you live in. Take me out of the equation; like me, don't like me, but think about why someone is OK with your kids eating crap."
